"Tessa
Pup"
Years ago, in a dark and secluded classroom at
Marblehead High; in some random computer class taught by Mrs.
Stomotuck - sat a young me, who, together with his fellow classmates
sat staring at a photo that at first glance looked like a random
smattering of black and white blobs. The presenter was challenging
us to see the bigger picture, and think about imagery in a different
way - and posed to us the question, "What do you see here?"
After a couple long minutes of kids giggling and puzzling about
what she was talking about, I - in a very Monty Python, "yes,
but what also floats?" moment of glory - blurted out, "A
Cow!" Everyone in the room turned and looked at me as if
I were mad. Some laughed. But all was forgiven when the presenter
said I was right. It was a picture of a cow's face, just really,
really close like this one of Tess' face. I am always reminded
of that moment when I see this photo. Tess was a super cute puppy
and loved the attention, so I managed to get this really close
photo of her. Then she started eating walls, and had to go live
somewhere else. |
