Paintings
I have only fairly recently gotten into painting. I generally prefer having more control over my medium. I like fine lines and exact detail - or approaching it as much as I can. But painting offers some great color combinations that are hard or otherwise impossible to achieve with pens or pencils. Whereas drawing is my way of seeing and trying to copy the essence of someone or something, painting is more an expolsion and exploration of my emotions. I tend to mix a lot of colors - creating these bright, vivid, saturated backgrounds that echo the mixed emotions I feel about the piece.

I am particular in tune with the splatter effect, originally widely-recognized about Jackson Polluck's style. I think that is the fact that it makes very detailed lines, spawning from an abject chaos of paint everywhere. I have been playing with ways to control it and create form with it, and should have a few new paintings soon in that vein.

For the most part, my paintings are Acrylic paint on stretched canvas - though, I do also sometimes use artboard, wood, glass and various other surfaces, and only occasionally do I use oil or enamel based paints (I'm lazy - they're too hard to clean).
