Part of the 'Bar Napkin Series', "The Passing" was meant to illustrate that sensation you get when a pretty girl breezes past you. Each of these was drawn to exemplify a part of me that had been either hidden at the time, completely repressed, or as a means to visually depict some aspect that I was trying to reach. Being so recently single at that point, I was very receptive to pretty girls - and the cloud of fragrant smells, glances and momentary connections they make as they pass on the street. The 'canvas' is completely filled in this one to illustrate the enormity of the impact that has on one's senses.
